The course and exams are offered in English only.
The written exam consists of multiple-choice questions.
The practical exam requires verbal answers in English.
All exams are closed-book. The use of interpreters or electronic devices is strictly prohibited.

Non-Restricted (Long Guns): Minimum age is 12 years. Restricted (Handguns and some Long Guns): Minimum age is 18 years. Anyone with a study permit, work permit, visitor visa, permanent residency (PR), or Canadian citizenship can register and apply for a PAL (Possession and Acquisition License).

Non-Restricted (Long Guns):
Training starts at 8:00 AM and must last 8 hours, excluding exam time. There is a 30-minute lunch break. The exam is held immediately after training.
Restricted (Handguns):
Training starts at 8:00 AM and must last 4 to 6 hours depending on scheduling. If the Restricted course was taken more than 7 days after the Non-Restricted course, a minimum of 6 hours of training is required. Exam follows immediately.
Each class is limited to a maximum of 12 participants to ensure quality instruction and adequate hands-on practice time for every student.
Students must pass the Non-Restricted exam before attending the Restricted course.
RCMP regulations require at least two days to complete both courses.

Manitoba: Non-Restricted: $175 per person. Restricted: $175 per person. Both courses completed within 7 days: $300 total. Only cash or Email Transfer accepted.

The practical exam evaluates safe firearm handling (e.g.loading/unloading).
No live firing is required.
Each course includes:
Written Exam: 50 multiple-choice questions (closed book)
Practical Exam: 50 tasks
You must score at least 80% to pass each section.
If you fail, you are allowed only one retest.The retest fee is $30.
If you fail the retest, you may re-enroll in the course by paying the full fee again.

No. After passing the course, you will receive a Course Report (proof of competency).
You must use this report to apply for your PAL (Possession and Acquisition License).
It usually takes about 3 months to receive your license. You cannot purchase firearms until you receive your PAL.

Course Report: Valid for life, unless revoked due to a violent offense.
PAL: Valid for 5 years. Renewal requires a new application and photo.
Fees are paid directly to the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program.

Yes, you can take the course and apply for a PAL. The PAL's validity is not linked to your visa status or duration.

No, a PAL does not allow you to hunt. You need a separate Hunter Education course and a hunting license.

Yes. The PAL is issued by the federal government and is valid across all Canadian provinces and territories.

Due to the limited number of seats available for each training session, all bookings are final.
Once a registration is confirmed, no cancellations, refunds, or rescheduling will be permitted under any circumstances.
However, you may transfer or gift your seat to another eligible individual, provided they meet the course requirements (e.g., age, ID, eligibility). Please notify us in advance if you plan to transfer your booking to someone else.
